Great bouldering gym, better than ground up in Squamish. The route setting is varied and technical, typically makes you think. Community here seems great too.

Recently moved to Vancouver and have been going to this gym for the last year or so. Great gym and climbing community. The staff are very welcoming and are doing their best to keep everyone physically distanced. Will be back soon!

Very welcoming, friendly and encouraging group of boulderers. Fun problems. The old walls and good crew brought back fond memories of the gym I grew up climbing at.

Climbed rock on link up to Squamish buttress direct with Vancouver alpine guides. The route was amazing and challenging! The guide (Eric Hughes) is an unbelievable climber and is also very friendly.

I did a one day Top Roping course with Jake. He was an excellent guide: punctual, courteous, very clear with his explanations and giving instructions, regularly checking if everyone was following and understanding him. For absolute beginners in the world of outdoor climbing, thi...

My partner and I did a the course Learn to Lead Climb. I was very happy about going over some basic concepts first, to refresh my memory and to feel more confident before moving forward. The instructor Amanda was very knowlegable and inspire trust & confidence.

The Hive North Shore location is easily the best gym I've been to in a long time. learning a new sport can be daunting and hard when you don't have anyone to show you the ropes. Luckily the staff at this location have been unfathomably helpful and you can really see how passionat...

Let me tell you, this place is amazing. Great Covid protocols and very mindful. Staff listens to you and understand your needs, they help you within their possibilities. A bit overpriced for the average climber, but worth every single penny. My only con is the booking system. It ...

Just finished AST 1 course and could not recommend enough. The online platform and the two field days were incredibly informative. If there is anyway to swing it, ask for Brent, he has a ridiculous amount of knowledge and expertise. He had tons of stories from working in the fiel...

I took both a trad leading and rock rescue course with Vancouver Mountain Guides over the weekend. Our teacher, Eric Hughes, was highly knowledgeable, patient, and fun. For the rock rescue course in particular, he taught in such a way that we weren't just learning ''rope tricks''...

Just completed a three day Spearhead traverse guided by Tim. It was great, and Tim was amazing on multiple levels - route finding in 6 feet visibility blizzard, belaying us on a down climb, cutting steps for a boot pack, keeping us going when necessary and finding the right place...

The Aviary is awesome. There's a lot of climbing in a small space, people are friendly, and because it's volunteer-run, it's CHEAP.

Great small climbing gym for students run by friendly volunteers! Things to know before you go for the first time: You'll need to sign a waiver. If you plan on belaying you will need to take a test before you can (of course). They also have lessons although they're usually booke...

Wow, can’t believe this is just sitting in a park in Vancouver. I doubt this thing really ever gets climbed, yet it’s surprisingly good. Definitely can't beet the price! As you can see there is a bit of lighting on one side of the boulder, but bring a headlamp if you want to...

As a climber, finding this was a pleasant surprise. Someone put playground equipment for an Adult in a park. This should be considered a good outdoor option to introduce your friends or kids with climbing, in the city.
